Double sided, self adhesive, cold applied, waterproofing tape for membrane detailing and sealing
Product Description
BITUSTIK™ is a flexible self adhesive tape coated on both sides with BITUTHENE® rubber bitumen adhesive and reinforced with a fibreglass mesh, to provide excellent adhesion to most building substrates. It is fully compatible with GCP waterproofing membranes.
Applications
- General purpose, double sided waterproof sealing strip for non-exposed applications
- For use as a detailing aid with BITUTHENE®, PREPRUFE®, HYDRODUCT® and GCP Protection boards or as a bedding strip for SERVISEAL® waterstops.

Equipment by others: Stanley knife or similar, hand roller. Roller or brush for primer.
Installation
Minimum application temperature +5°C for BITUSTIK™ Standard and -5°C for BITUSTIK™ 4000.
Concrete surfaces must be smooth, clean and dry. Use BITUTHENE® Primer S2 applied evenly by roller or brush to improve adhesion, particularly on dusty substrates, and allow to dry.
BITUSTIK™ is simply applied by peeling away the silicone release paper and applying one side of the adhesive face to the prepared substrate and roll firmly to ensure complete adhesion without creases or voids. Roll ends and cut edges should be overlapped 50 mm minimum and rolled firmly to ensure a watertight seal.
Once the first adhesive face has been applied and rolled, peel off the second release paper and apply the other material (SERVISEAL® PVC waterstops, PREPRUFE® or BITUTHENE® membranes, HYDRODUCT® drainage or GCP Protection).
Health and Safety
There is no legal requirement for a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for BITUSTIK™ Tapes. For health and safety questions on these products please contact GCP Applied Technologies.
For BITUTHENE® Primer S2, read the product label and Safety Data Sheets before use. Users must comply with all risk and safety phrases. SDS’s can be obtained from GCP Applied Technologies or from our web site at gcpat.com.
